PGL Netball Camp

On Friday 1st March our year 9 and 10 Netball girls departed TCS and headed for PGL Netball camp, in Swindon. On route they stopped at Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, for shopping and lunch as a reward for their commitment and hard-work this year.

Over the course of the weekend, the girls took part in competitive Netball matches and outdoor educational activities such as the ‘Leap of Faith’, and Zip wire.

The Netball tournament took place over 2 days, and after six gruelling matches each against teams spanning Newport to Surrey, the Year 9 1st team reached the semi final and played Chiselhurst School for Girls from Kent. Our girls put in a fantastic performance winning the semi final 6-4 to send them through to the final against Wycliffe Independent School from Gloucester. Teignmouth were defeated in the final and therefore finished a very credible 2nd place.

On the final day our students also got to meet and chat to an inspirational representative from the England Netball team. Overall a brilliant weekend, and all the girls who attended were a credit to our school and community. Well done team Teignmouth!
