GCSE Catering Students Create Outstanding Dishes

Today I visited a Year 10 GCSE catering class, to capture some of the delights being produced in the kitchen.

Each week the class are given a theme to follow when writing their own menu. This week the theme was “fine dining”. At the end of the year the students will take a practical exam along with a theory. The dishes produced each week are being classed as mini mock exams, gaining lots of practice for the real test at the end of the year!

As you can see by the photos, the students are already working at a very high standard, much to my disappointment I didn’t get to try any……maybe next time.
