Take Part in the Devon Virtual Games and Compete Against Schools Across Devon
The Devon Summer Games is a big event in the summer term where children from Devon go and compete in a wide range of events against other schools. This year, the competition has been adapted to 6 virtual events so Devon’s schoolchildren will still be able to take part in the popular School Games this year. In fact it’s ‘virtually’ the same as normal.
Active Devon, working alongside partners, is launching the Devon ‘Virtual’ Games. They get underway with a Walk, Jog, Run challenge starting this week. Those in secondary schools will aim for 40, 60 and 80 miles which links in well with our own Miles in May Challenge.
All those taking part will be able to compete at home, in the garden or at school if you should be there. Please ensure you are following the latest government guidance on being active during the coronavirus outbreak. Once a challenge has been completed entries can be submitted on-line.
The prestige of the event stays the same and there are still certificates, medals and prizes to be won including prizes for the school with the most entries!

The #DevonVirtualGames continues through until July 13th. Other challenges include the ‘Sportshall’ Pentathlon, Dance, Boccia (Sock-ia) and the Andy Murray 100 Volley event.
The last event will be a set of family-based challenges. These will run throughout the summer holidays.
Every Monday at 10am throughout June a new challenge will be posted on the Active Devon website. Each competition will be open for a limited amount of time. Youngsters can take part in as many as they want.
